About me
Hi! I'm Felipe. I'm a senior software developer borned and raised in Mexico. I first developed a passion for software engineering in highschool. I remember at some point we were given an assignment to create an educational videogame. It was supposed to be something simple, but I couldn't really stop working on it. I created a small replica of pacman with some "educational" twist. The game was nothing close to actual pacman game, but you could move around, eat pellets, be killed by ghosts, etc.
The gaming industry is fascinating in its own right, but I was really interested in the problem solving aspect of it. I've always been a logical, math oriented nerd. This was just the first time that I found the right outlet for me. What truly passions me about software developer is the ability to create something new from just an idea. There are limitless possibilities of what a website can do.
You may ask, what are some of your core strenghts as a developer? Well, I'm an excellent problem solver. Even if there is not a solution that works out of the gate. I don't get easily get discouraged, and I'm driven by a belief that anything can be solved with enough time. Now, if you were to ask me what are some of your weaknesses? Well, I may have to say the same points I just answered above. Some times I have a hard time letting go of a solution if I think it is the best approach even if it is tecnically challenging to implement. Now, I am aware of this and definetely won't spend **too** much time on a given project. (Ok, maybe just like a little too much, but not too much too much. Do you know what I mean? haha)
Hobbies and interests
I enjoy playing board games, and I'm very competitive (in a good way). Most nights I'm playing some board games with my wife. I love puzzle games in particular, and I also enjoy sports, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
I also love learning new languages. I currently speak Spanish (native), English, and French. I'm currently speaking Japanesse, and I like to think I know enough to get by, but without someone to practice it's hard to tell. Some next on my list are ASL, Italian, and maybe Arabic.
